Too poor to retire? Work until you drop under the Tories

Great video from TUC Touchstone showing Senior policy officer Richard Excell  explaining the state we are in - "September’s employment figures showed the number of people in employment rising. However, I’ve recorded this video to show that this increase is entirely due to rising numbers of people over retirement age in employment, many of whom cannot afford to retire. At the same time, average wages are falling in real terms, and living standards are falling".

Rights of work are not for sale - Unions Together

Dear Graham , Do you remember the 'shares for rights' scheme? It's George Osborne's cunning plan to put our rights at work up for sale.

In exchange for a few shares in the company, businesses will be allowed to force new employees to give up some of their key rights at work (including quite important ones, like not getting sacked, or being entitled to redundancy pay).

Jobs or Flowers? A letter to the Accrington Observer

I would like the opportunity to respond to the letter by Councillor Terry Hurn (Tory, Baxenden) last week suggesting that the MP was doing nothing for businesses in Hyndburn.
