Baxenden digital TV signal loss

The wind farm on Oswaldtwistle Moor has due to the weak signal from Winter Hill transmitter, knocked out the digital TV signal to huge parts of Baxenden.

This week Energiekontor have made an improved offer to Baxenden residents.



The offer (see foot of article) by EnergieKontor is a significant
improvement on the agreement they made with the former Conservative Council and
I am grateful that the company have moved a considerable way from the
obligations they agreed with that former Council.

This morning the Council agreed that Energiekontor would supply an updated spread sheet of residents affected by the loss of signal in accordance with the S106 Agreement.

It is expected that this would be updated daily on Energiekontors web site to minimise calls to Hyndburn Council and them to direct councillors and the public alike to such a spread sheet.

In the last few days my office has received numerous complaints from people in Baxenden who have suffered a loss or pixelisation of their digital TV signal which has left it unwatchable.

This could have been one of two things. Interference from 4G masts or the wind farm and I must confess I thought like some residents it was the former rather than the latter.
